Fondazione Bruno Kessler

Fondazione Bruno Kessler (FBK) is a research entity in the autonomous province of Trento and operates in the field of science and technology, and humanities. FBK has operated since 2007 and has its origins in the Istituto Trentino di Cultura, created thanks to the intuition of Bruno Kessler, a forward-thinking local administrator and the founder of the University of Trento. The foundation promotes and carries out research in sectors relevant to provincial development and aims to be recognised as a centre of excellence both nationally and internationally. It employs more than 350 researchers from all over the world.
The foundation carries out research in the fields of Information Technology, Materials and Microsystems, Italo-Germanic studies and Religious sciences. Thanks to a close network of alliances and collaborations, FBK also operates in the fields of theoretical nuclear physics, networking and telecommunications, and social sciences (studies of public policy effectiveness).
FBK’s multidisciplinary structure provides a multiplicity of expertise which it offers both locally and nationally.
